The city of Washougal received a clean audit report after the Washington State Auditor’s Office’s most recent routine review.

The state agency reviewed the city’s financial statements and compliance with federal requirements for the 2011 fiscal year and found no deficiencies. The review included the federal portion of the E Street project and the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program and found no reportable problems.

Washougal Finance Director Jennifer Forsberg said the clean audit is a compliment to the countless hours spent by staff members to ensure all funds were properly accounted for. The report shows citizens their money is well managed and being spent appropriately, she said.
