Letter: Uphold marriage equality

The Columbian
Published: August 31, 2012, 5:00pm

I moved to Vancouver in February 2003 and have called this place home ever since. I began attending the Unitarian Universalist Church of Vancouver within a couple weeks and have been a member for nine years. I am proud to say my church supports marriage equality and encourages others to do so also.

I have known a number of gays and lesbians throughout my life and have found them all to be just as fine human beings as any of us straight people. So I am definitely in favor of marriage equality and upholding same-sex marriage law by approval of Referendum 74.

I would encourage anyone who thinks differently to get to know some gay and lesbian folks.
