FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — The New York Jets have re-signed defensive tackle Marcus Dixon and signed punter Robert Malone.

The team also released linebacker Ricky Sapp from the practice squad Wednesday and added cornerback LeQuan Lewis to the replace his roster spot.

Dixon is back after the team waived nose tackle Isaako Aaitui, who injured a knee in his first practice with the Jets on Monday. Dixon is a key backup who played in every game last season.

Malone replaces T.J. Conley, who was waived Tuesday after one season as the Jets’ punter. Coach Rex Ryan says the team was looking for more consistency at the position and thinks they’ll get that from Malone, who was cut by San Diego last week. Malone has also punted in games for Tampa Bay and Dallas.
