CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) — Harvard’s football team escaped damage in the plagiarism scandal that could involve as many as 125 students.
The Crimson weren’t missing any of their starters when they beat San Diego 28-13 in the opener on Saturday. Spokesman Kurt Svoboda said no one was removed from the roster in the weeks since news of the cheating broke.
The school announced in August that as many as half of the students in a single class may have plagiarized on a take-home, open book final exam in a single class. Published reports have said the co-captains of the basketball team have withdrawn from school rather than jeopardize their eligibility.
There were at least 105 people in uniform on the Harvard sideline during the game, including injured ones. The roster lists 119 players.
