Letter: Consider other choices

We seem to be stuck as a nation with poor choices for president, fear mongered into believing we have to vote for either of these choices. If you do what you’ve always done, you will get what you’ve always gotten.

Buddy Roemer, former governor of Louisiana, would be an excellent choice. Gary Johnson, Libertarian party candidate, is another excellent choice. Most are squeamish about choosing Libertarian candidates. Honestly, could we do worse than what we’ve had the last 12 years?

Continued partisanship by both major parties begs the question, “Why should I return any of our congressional representatives or senators to office?” Why should we return House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, or his cohort? Why should we return Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and his ilk? They have only brought us misery. You can add many names to both sides of the ledger. We are not lacking better choices. We are only constrained by the fear that our votes will be cast in vain. If we choose someone better, will those votes be any more vain than casting them on those we are almost certain are not worthy of the reins of government?
