Driver's license totals show more newcomers to Clark County

The number of newcomers to Clark County, as measured by local driver's license applications, increased slightly in August.
According to the Washington Department of Licensing, 1,157 people turned in out-of-county driver's licenses for local ones last month. That's up from July's 1,031 applications and also up slightly from the 1,104 licenses issued in September 2008.
Licensing data is considered a population indicator. Through August, drivers license applications totaled 8,179, a 9.8 percent decline from the 9,063 licenses issued during the same period in 2011.
