Off-year election quiet; Clark County voters’ interest in port, city council, school board races wanes

Elections officials expect 36 percent turnout

Two weeks ago, the Clark County Elections Office mailed ballots for the Nov. 7 general election to the county’s 332,500 eligible voters.

How many of them will come back is an open question.

Elections Director Cathie Garber estimated turnout for the general election would be around 36 percent, close to the average for off-year elections in Clark County.
