Letter: Herrera Beutler fulfilling promises

The Columbian
Published: September 21, 2012, 5:00pm

Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, has done an admirable job in her first term.

She’s inserted herself into the messy Columbia River Crossing, and tried to give citizens some say in the project. We now get to vote on a sales tax increase for maintenance and operations of light rail. She promised to focus on jobs, and then held multiple job fairs with some of the best employers.

She’s also taken some heat from people writing The Columbian for not wanting to raise taxes. She shouldn’t be attacked for protecting small businesses and all Americans from the tax hike.

She seems to have her priorities straight and I’m happy she’s representing me in Congress.
