MONACO (AP) — The IAAF has ratified the world indoor pole vault record set by American Olympic gold-medalist Jennifer Suhr.
Suhr set a mark of 16 feet 5 1-2 inches at a meet in Albuquerque in March, beating the previous record of 16 feet 5 1-4 inches set a year ago by Yelena Isinbayeva of Russia.
Suhr won the gold medal in pole vault at the London Olympics, ending Isinbayeva’s bid for a third straight Olympic gold. Isinbayeva finished with a bronze.
