A Vancouver school bus rear-ended another vehicle Thursday afternoon near Evergreen Park on its way to pick up students at Gaiser Middle School.

Around 3:10 p.m. the bus was traveling west on East Fourth Plain Boulevard near Hazelwood Drive — not far from the bus garage — when it hit a vehicle. That vehicle was pushed into another vehicle, said Kim Kapp, spokeswoman for the Vancouver Police Department.

There were no students on board at the time. The school bus pulled into 3605 E. Fourth Plain, so Vancouver police could investigate, said Kris Sork, spokeswoman for the Vancouver School District.

Another bus was sent to pick up students from Gaiser.

Both the school district and the Vancouver Police Department will investigate the collision.
