Prep roundup: Efraimson wins 800m in Eugene

Camas sophomore Alexa Efraimson won the 800 meters at the Oregon Relays in Eugene, Ore., in the third-fastest time posted in the nation this season.

Efraimson ran in 2 minutes, 9.63 seconds, the best time run in the state this season. She also helped Camas win the distance medley.

Skyview’s Colby Gilbert won the 3,000 in 8:29.29, and placed fourth in the 1,500.

BASEBALL: JT Kaul pitched a one-hit shutout, striking out 15 batters while walking two in Mountain View’s 3-0 win over Hudson’s Bay.

BASEBALL: Ian Humphrey went 2 for 4 with a double and five RBI as Battle Ground beat Heritage 11-2 to move into a fourth-place tie with Camas in the Class 4A Greater St. Helens League.

BASEBALL: Reiley Henderson went 3 for 4 with a double and RBI as Skyview beat Camas 7-2 to open up a three-game lead in the 4A GSHL.

BASEBALL: La Center freshman Sawyer Beirschide pitched four effective innings in the start as the Wildcats defeated Franklin Pierce 8-4.
