Rubber duckies flood Washougal River for Rotary

Washougal — A fleet of 3,500 yellow rubber ducks invaded the Washougal River on July 28 during Camas Days to benefit Camas-Washougal Rotary and its numerous efforts, including local scholarships and international service projects. The race began at high noon when a front-loader from Nutter Corp. tipped its bucket over the Third Avenue bridge. The winner, 18 minutes later, was Jacob Zarzana of Vancouver. His prize is a Hawaiian vacation for two. But the real winner was Camas-Washougal Rotary, which raised more than $20,000.
