Letter: 137th Avenue needs rethinking

The Columbian
Published: August 10, 2013, 5:00pm

Who in the world designed the Northeast 137th Avenue project? I travel this route often and find that what they have done is crazy.

I can understand the roundabouts every two to three blocks, but what I cannot understand is the barrier that runs the entire length of 137th Avenue, allowing no turns except at the roundabouts, thus causing anyone living along that stretch of road to travel several extra blocks to go in a direction they might really want to go and making it difficult to pull into their own driveways.

When there is a fire or medical call along this stretch, response time will increase.

Remove the barriers and let us turn where we want to.
