Clark County's extended cold snap is beginning to thaw, with temperatures climbing above freezing in places for the first time, day or night, in nearly a week.

Vancouver's Pearson Field observed 33 degrees just before noon today. Earlier in the morning, the National Weather Service in Portland lifted a winter weather advisory for the region — but not before wintry conditions caused another round of closures and delays.

Icy roads and inclement weather led some Clark County schools to close or start later than usual, but major roads remained mostly clear for the morning commute as snow accumulation didn't amount to much.

Dave Elson, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said while light snows may still appear across Clark County throughout the afternoon, there is no expectation the snow will accumulate.
