LOS ANGELES (AP) — Jordan Adams scored 18 points while Norman Powell and Kyle Anderson added 13 to lead UCLA to a 95-71 win over Prairie View A&M Saturday night at Pauley Pavilion.

The win helped the Bruins erase the sting from last week’s loss to Missouri, their first setback of the season, while improving to 9-1.

A poor start and a couple of first-half runs by the Bruins didn’t help. The Bruins stole the ball on the Panthers’ first two possessions of the game and used the resulting points to build an early lead.

The Bruins went on a 24-9 run, which started midway through the first half, to help build a 50-24 halftime lead and send the Panthers to their third straight loss.

Prairie View (2-8) was led by Scott Montrael, who scored 25 of his game-high 27 points in the second half.
