Christmas care for local seniors

Who’s that? It’s Jeff Guard, aka Santa, and also the brother of Washougal Mayor Sean Guard. Both Guards were on hand at Prestige Care and Rehabilitation in Camas on Wednesday as donated presents were distributed to residents. The effort was organized by Julie Williams of Home Instead Senior Care.

Williams, wearing the purple Santa hat, had hoped to amass enough donated Christmas gifts to brighten the season for as many as 100 local nursing home residents. But thanks to the generosity of all who left gifts below special purple trees at Clark County businesses and restaurants, the number of gifted seniors was closer to 300.
