Brooke Sparks hit a 17-foot jump shot with 10 seconds left to give Hockinson a nonleague victory.

Katelyn McGuire had 17 points and 8 rebounds to lead the Hawks (5-3).

At the end of a back-and-forth game, Hockinson coach Damon Roche drew up a play for McGuire. She was defended, so Sparks took the winning shot instead.

“We’re working hard at being patient,” Roche said. “When the play broke down, they didn’t panic.”
