KEARNS, Utah (AP) — Heather Richardson captured her second victory at the U.S. Olympic speedskating trials, beating world-record holder Brittany Bowe in the 1,000 meters Sunday.

Richardson won with a time of 1 minute, 13.23 seconds. Bowe settled for the second spot in 1:13.93.

Last month, Bowe set the world record of 1:12.58 at the Utah Olympic Oval, but the former inliner and college basketball point guard couldn’t match that time on the same ice. The order of finish matched the previous day in the 500, when Richardson and Bowe also went 1-2.

The top four are expected to earn spot on the Olympic team. Sugar Todd locked up her second race in Sochi by finishing third in 1:15.72. Kelly Gunther took the fourth spot in 1:16.43, just ahead of three-time Olympian Elli Ochowicz.
