A furious finish earned the Hawks second place in the Class 2A Greater St. Helens League.

Hockinson finished the game on an 8-0 run, getting four free throws from Sydnie Cole in the final six seconds.

As the second-place team, Hockinson (9-11, 5-3) will host a district playoff game on Friday, probably against Black Hills of Tumwater.

Ridgefield led by six points with 1:49 remaining. Cole made a steal and was fouled with 5.4 seconds remaining, hitting both free throws to tie the score.

A Hockinson foul gave Ridgefield a chance to regain the lead, but the Hawks rebounded the missed free throw. After a timeout, Cole dribbled the ball up court and was fouled on a shot attempt as time expired, hitting both shots to secure the victory.

Cole finished with 12 ponts and seven steals.

Katelyn McGuire led the Hawks with 17 points, nine rebounds and four steals. Brianna Curtis had six rebounds and four steals, and Kaylee Hartloo grabbed six rebounds off the bench.

Shannon Boyle scored 12 points to lead Ridgefield, which finished with a record of 6-14.
