Delaware State rallies to beat Morgan State 52-50

DOVER, Del. (AP) — Tahj Tate scored all 12 of his points in the second half, including a 3-pointer that gave Delaware State the lead with 57 seconds left in its 52-50 victory over Morgan State on Monday night.

DeWayne Jackson missed two shots in the closing minute that could have given the lead back to Morgan State, which led by 14 points early in the second half.

Both teams’ shooting turned dramatically after halftime. The Hornets (12-13, 7-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) rallied by shooting 60 percent (12 of 20) in the second half after making 20.6 percent (7 of 34) in the first.

The Bears (9-14, 6-6), who led 29-18 after shooting 50 percent (12 of 24) in the first half, dropped to 25 percent (6 of 24) in the second.

Marques Oliver added 11 points and Casey Walker 10 for Delaware State.

Jackson and Justin Black scored 10 each for the Bears.
