Girls basketball: Mark Morris 62, Hockinson 35

The visiting Monarchs made five 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to pull away in the 2A Greater St. Helens League opener for both teams.

Mark Morris (10-2) took a 10-point lead in the first quarter, but it was a 20-7 advantage in the fourth quarter that sealed the win. Three players scored in double figures for the Monarchs, with Karley Eaton netting 16 and Ashley Coons 15.

For Hockinson (3-8), Katelyn McGuire had 10 rebounds and three steals. McGuire and Brianna Curtis had eight points apiece to lead the Hawks’ scoring.
