TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Jeremy Ingram scored 26 points and Stanton Kidd added 21 as North Carolina Central defeated Florida A&M 85-62 Saturday night in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action for the Eagles’ third straight win.
Ingram made 9 of 13 field goals and Kidd was 10 of 15 for North Carolina Central (9-7, 2-0), which shot 57.1 percent (32 of 56) to snap the Rattlers’ three-game home winning streak.
The Eagles took control early and pushed the lead into double figures for good on Emanuel Chapman’s 3-pointer at the 9:45 mark to make it 23-11.
Leading 43-32 at the break, North Carolina Central opened the second half with a 17-2 spurt.
Florida A&M (4-12, 1-1), which shot 40 percent (22 of 55), had five players in double figures. Jamari Bradshaw, Trey Kellum and Reggie Lewis scored 12 apiece while Jamie Adams and Muham Abdul-Aleem added 10 points each in the Rattlers’ sixth straight loss.
