Isenbarger leads Elon past The Citadel 70-66

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Jack Isenbarger had 22 points and eight assists to lead Elon past The Citadel in a Southern Conference game on Saturday.

Tanner Samson had 15 points, making 5 of 12 from beyond the arc, and Lucas Troutman scored 14 for the Phoenix (13-7, 6-2), who have won five in a row.

Mike Groselle had 20 points and nine rebounds, Matt Van Scyoc scored 20, and Marshall Harris III had nine points and seven rebounds for the Bulldogs (4-15, 1-8), who have lost five in a row to Elon.

Elon shot 12 of 32 from beyond the arc, while The Citadel was 5 of 18, which helped offset the Bulldogs’ 15 of 22 to the Phoenix’s 4 of 6 from the line.

Elon led 38-33 at halftime and never trailed in the second half. The Phoenix pushed their advantage to 64-54 on Troutman’s layup with 7:01 remaining and were never threatened.
