Washougal — Hathaway Elementary fifth-grade boys were pointed toward a stronger future during a recently concluded Rotary Club program that promotes positive behaviors over potentially destructive ones. Young Men in Action wrapped up this month after seven weeks of lessons on life skills, such as health, manners, career building and friendship. The program was run by the Camas-Washougal Rotary Club, whose members served as male mentors for the boys. The students also learned first aid, played games and practiced abilities such as tying a tie and dressing for success.
