Letter: Many can’t afford more taxation

In reference to Alan Rossi’s March 11 letter, “Stop complaining about high taxes,” maybe this individual has more money than he knows what to do with or he just loves taxation. I would bet that a lot of people who live payday to payday simply cannot afford to pay more taxes. What about elderly people who are living on a fixed income? How are they to pay more without any additional income?

Vancouver Mayor Tim Leavitt thinks that we have a bottomless pocket. Heck, why not take the waste out of our city government? Maybe then he would not have to seek more money from a gas tax. Do we really need three people doing a job that one could handle? I say no more taxes — city, state and federal.
