Cal Poly dominates Sacramento St. for a 42-7 win

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) — Chris Brown completed just 6 of 10 passes but four were for touchdowns as Cal Poly dominated Sacramento State 42-7 Saturday night.

The Mustangs (5-5, 4-2 Big Sky) rolled up 424 yards on the ground as Sacramento State (4-6, 3-3) had no answers. Akaninyene Umoh finished with 129 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries while Kristaan Ivory added 118 on 11. Brown also pitched in 57 yards on 16 carries.

Brown found Cole Stanford for a 16-yard score and hit Austin Albison from 14-yards out as Cal Poly jumped to a 14-0 lead.

The Hornets responded as Garrett Safron hit DeAndre Carter for a 15-yard score, capping a 6-play, 99-yard drive. It was all Cal Poly after that as the Mustangs rattled off 28 unanswered points.

Safron finished 24 of 43 for 204 yards and a touchdown, but he also threw two interceptions.
