NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) — Paul Jones threw three touchdowns to guide Robert Morris to a runaway 54-14 win over Central Connecticut State on Saturday.

The win marks the third straight Northeast Conference win for the Colonials (5-4, 3-1), who also got another big game from the defense. Defensive back Eric Lowry returned an interception 38 yards for a second quarter TD, then linebacker Kimani Smith picked off Nick SanGiacomo on the Blue Devils next possession for a 31-yard TD return.

Jones spread the ball around in a balanced ground and air attack. Duane Mitchell, with four receptions for 100 yards, gave the Colonials their first TD. Deontae Howard and Tyler Digby also caught TD passes, while Ryan Thermil and Kenneth Davis each rushed for TDs. Connor Shennan kicked two field goals.

CCSU (4-6, 2-2) took the early lead on a SanGiacomo touchdown pass to Nick Bacarella. Robert Morris responded with 44 unanswered points.
