Wy’east Middle School — Teachers Amy Matsumoto and Sarazan Torelli have been nominated for the LifeChanger of the Year award, which is given to K-12 teachers by the National Life Group. Matsumoto, who teaches English as a second language, goes out of her way to bond with students who are learning English and make them feel at home, according to her nomination. And Torelli, a special-education teacher, worked hard to implement a new inclusion policy that helps special-needs students succeed, according to her nomination. Ten award winners will be announced in the spring. Visit www.LifeChangeroftheYear.com to learn more.
