TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona State is getting a late start to its second season under coach Todd Graham.

While the rest of college football got the season started last week, the Sun Devils had a bye before Thursday night’s game against Sacramento State.

Arizona State has a difficult schedule after its opener, but can’t afford to look past the Hornets.

Sacramento State beat Oregon State in 2011 and Colorado in 2012, joining two-time champion North Dakota State as the only FCS schools to beat FBS teams each of the last two seasons.

Still, it will be tough for the Hornets against the Sun Devils.

Arizona State routed Northern Arizona in its only game against an FCS team last season and Sac State opened this season with a 24-0 loss to San Jose State.
