Letter: Food for thought

I happened to read where Seattle has about two blocks where its future “Edible Food Forest” will be. The plans are to plant fruit and nut trees with plenty of organic vegetables and berries grown by Seattle’s residents. Small vegetable plots will be available for folks to grow food to share.

The homeless and low-income folks may become a part of this large garden, too, thus bringing healthier foods to their tables.

What a perfect way to use empty lots within our city. Imagine walking through an edible forest. Worth a thought, county commissioners?
