KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee freshman defensive end Corey Vereen is expected to make his collegiate debut Saturday at No. 19 Florida.

Linebacker Curt Maggitt remains sidelined as he recovers from a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

Volunteers coach Butch Jones updated the status of both players on his radio show Wednesday.

Vereen missed Tennessee’s first three games after spraining the medial collateral ligament in his right knee during training camp.

Maggitt, a starter each of the past two years, tore the ACL in his right knee last November in a loss to Missouri. Maggitt hasn’t played since, and Jones has declared him out for the Florida game.
