YMCA celebrates grand reopening Saturday

The Clark County Family YMCA is holding a free community event to celebrate the completion of an $8 million renovation and encourage kids to exercise their minds and bodies.

The celebration begins at 9:30 a.m. Saturday with a grand reopening dedication of the facility, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:45 a.m. Healthy Kids Day activities will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the center, 11324 N.E. 51st Circle.

The newly renovated YMCA now offers two pools, including a new six-lane lap pool, two gymnasiums, four group exercise studios, five locker rooms, a youth center and child care center, massage studio and an indoor track.YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day is a national initiative to improve families’ health and well-being. Activities include games, healthy living demonstrations, arts and crafts.
