Green Bay pulls away from Youngstown 85-69

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Keifer Sykes had 24 points, nine assists and a career-high eight rebounds to lead Green Bay to an 85-69 victory over Youngstown State in a conference matchup Saturday.

The Phoenix (11-3, 2-0 Horizon League) trailed most of the first half but used a 15-6 run in the final minutes to take a 40-38 advantage into the break, then pulled away early in the second half on a 17-3 run sparked by a Greg Mays dunk.

Alec Brown contributed 20 points, Mays added 16 and Jordan Fouse had 10 for Green Bay, which now has six straight wins.

Youngstown State (9-8, 0-2) led by as many as 10 points in the first half, then challenged for the lead again early in second half, drawing to within a point of Green Bay on a Ryan Weber 3-pointer that made it 46-45 before stalling.

Bobby Hain led the Penguins with 18 points.
