Lynden Christian uses 25-0 run to pull away from Seton Catholic boys 71-39

Lynden Christian scored 25 unanswered points in the second half to pull away from Seton Catholic 71-39 in a Class 1A state opening round boys basketball game Saturday in Lynden.

The No. 7 seed Seton Catholic will face No. 10 Meridian of Bellingham in a 1A state round-of-12 game Wednesday in Yakima.

Seton Catholic trailed 22-16 midway in the second quarter when Kaiden Wilson went to the bench with his third foul.

The Cougars were able to close within 24-21 before the Lyncs scored the final eight points of the half to take a 32-21 lead into halftime.

Lynden Christian’s lead was 39-28 in the third quarter when the Lyncs went on a 25-0 run to put the game away.

Brady Angelo had 12 points to lead Seton, and Wilson added 10.
