VMI dominates Washington College 128-54

LEXINGTON, Va. (AP) — QJ Peterson scored 20 points to lead a high-scoring Virginia Military team in a 128-54 victory over Division III Washington College on Saturday.

The 74-point victory was the largest in program history for VMI (6-6), which shot 63 percent from the field.

Leading 17-10, VMI pulled away with a 25-8 run on its way to a 70-25 halftime lead. Washington College (3-7) scored just two points over the final 7:40 of the first half.

Tim Marshall scored 19, D.J. Covington had 16 and Rodney Glasgow added 15 for the Keydets. VMI scored 58 points in the paint and made 14 of 26 3-pointers.

Covington also had three blocks, becoming the all-time blocks leader at VMI with 203.

Washington College was led by Kevin Cunningham with 11 points and nine rebounds.

The two schools had last met during the 1922-23 season, when Washington College won 26-15.
