B.G. Police: Investigation of fatal hit and run in 2012 still active

By Emily Gillespie, Columbian Breaking News Reporter

Battle Ground police continue to investigate a hit-and-run that killed a 22-year-old woman in 2012 and are again asking for the public’s help in solving the case.

At around 9 p.m. May 9, Tatyana Tupikova was walking north on the east side of state Highway 503 when police say she was struck and killed by a passing vehicle or an item extending from a passing vehicle.

Tupikova, a Battle Ground resident, had been walking home from Battle Ground Cinema where she had just watched the 6:30 p.m. showing of “The Avengers.”

Two days later, a passer-by found her body in the ditch about 50 feet from the northbound lanes, between Main Street and Eaton Boulevard.

Police are asking for information from anyone who may have seen Tupikova at the movie theater or walking away from the area.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in the case.
