Torey Jones and Andrew Vickers hit back-to-back 3-pointers at the end of the second quarter to help River open up a physical game.

“We held them to only one field goal in the first quarter, so we defended pretty well,” Columbia River coach David Long said. “Kelso plays hard up there, so it was a grinder. It wasn’t until we hit those two threes to open things up.”

River took a 28-15 lead into halftime.

Jones had 12 points and Vickers added 10 to lead another balanced scoring night for River.

“I don’t have that 25-point-a-night guy this year,” Long said. “Everyone on the floor can score, which makes us a difficult assignment for teams to defend.”
