Vancouver police warn of possible curb-painting scam

Published:

Police are warning Vancouver residents about a possible scam involving a fake curb-painting service.

A canvasser distributed fliers in the 3600 block of H Street in west Vancouver — and possibly other neighborhoods — that told residents the service would be in the area painting house numbers on the curbs, said Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp. The flier asks residents for a $15 donation for the service.

Although there is no contact information on the fliers, it states that if residents don’t decline the service, the painters will paint the address and return to collect a payment.
