VANCOUVER — The Fort Vancouver National Trust will hold its first fundraiser for the Pearson Field Education Center on June 21.

The Let’s Take Flight event will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Trust’s hangar at Pearson Field, 201 E. Reserve St.

It will feature a buffet luncheon, silent and live auctions, and a celebration of accomplishments.

Guest speaker will be Robin Petgrave, founder and executive director of Tomorrow’s Aeronautical Museum in Compton, Calif.

Proceeds will help the center continue its aviation-based education and outreach programs, which include summer camps and Open Cockpit Days.

The education and outreach programs had been based at Pearson Air Museum. After the National Park Service took over museum management, the Trust moved its programs to the Pearson Field facility.

Parking will be at the Pearson Field Education Center, which is northeast of the Aero Maintenance Flight Center.

Tickets are $50 a person. The reservation deadline is Friday. Go to www.fortvan.org or call 360-992-1808 or 360-992-1813.
