A presentation this month will explore the natural history and lore of the wilderness around Mount St. Helens.

The talk by regional author and biologist Robert Michael Pyle will highlight both the butterflies of the area and an abundance of reported Sasquatch sightings. The presentation, titled “Of Butterflies and Bigfoot,” is sponsored by the Mount St. Helens Institute.

Pyle will speak at 6:30 p.m. May 20 at Loowit Brewing Company, 507 Columbia St. in Vancouver. He’ll give the same presentation the night before in Kelso.

The suggested donation is $10 for adults. Children 12 and younger can enter for free. Students older than 12 may enter for $5 with student ID.

Pyle is the author of 17 books including “Chasing Monarchs,” “Where Bigfoot Walks” and “Wintergreen.”
