Letter: Some items are no laughing matter

The Columbian
Published: November 19, 2014, 12:00am

I will attempt to get my two cents’ worth in on a couple of subjects.

I thought it quite humorous on all the wasted time put in by The Columbian writers on the Jeanne Stewart source of campaign funds for her candidacy for Clark County commissioner while all the time I was receiving two pieces a day of election propaganda from Rep. Monica Stonier, D-Vancouver. A majority of funds for Stonier’s campaign came from The Washington Education Association, which receives money from the members, which comes from their salaries via our tax money.

I did not find so humorous the Nov. 13 article “TriMet rebuffs C-Tran request” concerning the C-Tran/TriMet contract regarding the Columbia River Crossing. All I can say is bad politicians do not hold the will of the people in high regard. The folks in Clark County voted “no” several times on light rail and to turn a deaf ear to us, plus sign a contract giving away use of C-Tran’s authority of eminent domain to TriMet, does not become humorous. Remember this at the next local election.
