Fire officials say that an electrical malfunction or failure caused a two-alarm fire at a house in Vancouver’s North Image neighborhood that displaced 10 people.

The fire was reported just after 4 a.m. Tuesday at 5021 N.E. 128th Court. The blaze started in the garage and extended into the upper part of the house, according to Vancouver Fire Marshal Heidi Scarpelli. No one was injured.

Damage to the four-bedroom structure and the contents, including two vehicles, is estimated at $150,000, Scarpelli said.

Volunteers with the American Red Cross responded and assisted the seven adults and three children who were displaced.

The agency assisted those affected with lodging, food, clothing, infant formula, comfort kits and provided information about disaster health services.

County property records indicate the home is owned by a Palm Coast, Fla., couple.
