2A GSHL football: Hockinson 49, Washougal 13

Hockinson came into the game ranked as the No. 1 2A team in Washington and looked every part it in the first half.

Led by the running back duo of Austen Johnson and Tommy Harshaw, the Hawks defeated Washougal.

Hockinson was up 28-0 at the half, while allowing only 28 total yards.

Harshaw scored three touchdowns on his first six carries and finished with 242 total yards. Johnson was the workhorse, putting Harshaw in Panther territory, finishing with 137 yards on 23 carries and a touchdown of his own.

The rain made an impact in the second half, however, as Washougal forced an interception—which was ran in for a touchdown by Grayden Economides — and collected three fumbles.

The Hockinson defense would answer, picking off Washougal quarterback Kyron Carlson three times. Harshaw found the end zone one more time in the second half, while Josh Carter scored his first career touchdown with just seconds remaining for the Hawks.

Carlson found Spencer Adams in the back of the endzone for the other Washougal score. The two touchdowns for the Panthers were the first two this season against the Hockinson defense.

Hockinson allowed a total of 151 yards and continued their torrid pace in the 2A division.
