Letter: Many reasons to elect Stonier again

The Columbian
Published: September 15, 2014, 5:00pm

Monica Stonier has demonstrated, in her first term as 17th Legislative District representative, Position 1, the ability to reach across the political aisle. It’s a refreshing treat to listen to her comprehensive, efficiently expressed explanations for her positions on issues. To observe and hear a first-hand presentation from Stonier, we urge you to attend the Oct. 9 League of Women Voters forum.

Stonier supports local control of schools and a major accomplishment in her first term was improving the graduation requirements for all kids, not just those who are college bound. It’s so essential to have at least one practicing teacher/educator in the Legislature to address the multibillion-dollar education operation in Washington state. Stonier understands first hand the ins-and-outs of a school district with her background.
