Letter: Briggs will spur action in Olympia

The Columbian
Published: September 21, 2014, 5:00pm

Voters in the 18th Legislative District have an opportunity to elect a representative for Position 1 who has the interest of residents of this district foremost in his mind. Mike Briggs is a Navy veteran who will work with all members of the Legislature irrespective of their party affiliations in order to improve how government responds to the needs of the community.

He has a special interest in solving transportation problems and in all types of education opportunities, including non-traditional institutions, trade schools, union apprenticeship programs, skills centers, etc. He feels that the tax burden for education should be shifted more to the state level and less dependent on local property taxes.

A vote for Mike Briggs will lead to action in Olympia.
