Prep roundup: Camas’ Schroeder throws another no-hitter

Katie Schroeder’s video game stat-like season continued Thursday as the Camas pitcher threw a no-hitter against Mountain View.

Schroeder struck out 10 in what was a close game for four innings before Camas scored four runs in the fifth and then plated nine in the seventh inning for a 15-0 victory.

Tori O’Neill went 5 for 5 and drove in two runs. Emma Jimenez drove in five runs. And McKinley Johnson hit a home run to lead the Camas offense.

Schroeder improved to 8-0 this season. She has 95 strikeouts in 52⅔ innings pitched.

• Jace McKinney, Columbia River baseball, went 2 for 3 with three runs, three RBI, a home run and a double in a win over Fort Vancouver.

• Jarod Luedecker and Cole Foley, Heritage baseball, both went 2 for 4 and both drove in runs in a three-run seventh inning to give Heritage its first 4A GSHL win of the season, 4-3 over Skyview.

• Parker Boyd, Battle Ground softball, struck out seven in a four-hit shutout over Skyview.

• Taylor Hartley, Union girls golf, won the medalist honors at the Chieftain Invitational, shooting a 74 at Lewis River. Camas girls beat Union for the team title.

• Brady Whalen, Union baseball, went 2 for 2 with a double, RBI and three runs scored in Union’s 8-0 win over Mountain View.

• Brandon Casteel, Washougal baseball, went 2 for 4 with a run and two RBI, and pitched five innings for the win in a 5-4 win over Woodland.

• Bailey Blechschmidt, Prairie softball, went 3 for 4 with two RBI in the Falcons win over Fort Vancouver.

• Hannah Neff, Heritage softball, threw seven shutout innings in a 2-0 win over Evergreen.

• Rafiq Dejesus, Columbia River boys soccer, scored three goals in a 4-0 win over Fort Vancouver.

• Colton Arends, La Center boys soccer, scored two goals in the Wildcats’ 3-0 win over Seton Catholic.

• Carter Strader, Ridgefield baseball, went 2 for 4 with two doubles, two runs and two RBI in Ridgefield’s 12-8 win over Hockinson.
