NBC announced Thursday the renewal of five of its drama series for the 2015-16 season.

The network, which is currently in first place with viewers under 50, has ordered new seasons of “The Blacklist,” “Grimm,” “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago P.D.” and “Law & Order: SVU.”

“The creative vision of the executive producers who’ve guided these outstanding dramas has been nothing short of incredible,” NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke said in a news release. “We’re highly appreciative of the passion they bring to their shows at every step of the creative process and we’re thrilled to reward that dedication with these renewals.”

The renewal for “The Blacklist,” one of the top-rated broadcast shows with viewers 18 to 49 years old, comes as no surprise. The drama starring James Spader is in its second season and was given the plum postgame slot following Sunday’s Super Bowl.

The supernatural drama “Grimm,” which is set and filmed in Portland, has been a success story for the network on Friday nights, averaging a live plus same-day audience of about 5 million viewers and getting a big boost once time-shifted viewing is factored in.
