• Battle Ground Health Care is looking for volunteer dental hygienists and assistants, a dental clinic manager, receptionists, coders, phlebotomists, registered nurses and a volunteer coordinator.

• CDM Adult Day Services is looking for a licensed hair dresser, or someone working toward a license, to provide services to adults with disabilities.

• Clark County Juvenile Court seeks volunteer mentors to assist youth with projects to help them stay on task and understand the value of the work being done.

• Innovative Services NW is looking for front desk help, 6 to 8 p.m. weekdays and 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.

• Lutheran Community Services is looking for a citizenship class instructor, driver, ESL instructor, mentor and program assistant.

• Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge is looking for environmental educators/cultural interpreters to provide information to the public. Volunteers may also lead groups on tours of the Cathlapotle Plankhouse and on short nature walks.

The Vancouver Police Department seeks volunteers for its Neighbors on Watch program, to help deter crime at parks, shopping centers, schools, special events and in neighborhoods; canvass for missing people and find stolen vehicles through observation and reporting. NOW volunteers receive specialized free training, and then patrol city neighborhoods on foot, bike or by vehicle. Participants must be 21 or older, live within Vancouver city limits and be able to pass a police background check.

Clark County residents who live outside the city limits of Vancouver can apply for the Clark County Sheriff’s Office NOW program by calling 397-2211, ext 3380.

Columbia Springs seeks people with a passion for nature to become volunteer leads.

Training, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 7 at Columbia Springs’ Vancouver Trout Hatchery, will feature guests speakers, a tour and hands-on activities. Topics include leadership, public speaking and environmental science. A free lunch is included.

In exchange for free training, participants spend 20 hours of service to Columbia Springs in one year.

Clark County Food Bank seeks to alleviate hunger in Clark County. For information about the following volunteer opportunities, contact the food bank at 360-693-0939 or volunteer@clarkcountyfoodbank.org.

• Truck driving or riding: 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday through Friday; no CDL license required. This position includes filling out donation slips and lifting 40- to 50-pound boxes.

• Sorting: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, sorting grocery produce for distribution. Training is provided.

• Reception: Shifts available 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, filing, answering phones, greeting visitors and volunteers. Training is provided.

• Repacking: 5:30 to 8 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month, or for groups by prior arrangement.

• Nutrition education: help facilitate classes, translate, and conduct cooking demonstrations at various times throughout Clark County in the new “Cooking Matters” program.
