Letter: Celebrate nation’s independence

The Columbian

Happy Independence Day. A very patriotic day in the history of our country. One nation, under God, coming together again to celebrate that very special day of independence from tyranny. We should thank our soldiers for the right to barbecue and watch fireworks in relative peace and harmony. Thanks also goes to the militia of that early time. They were our ancestors who took firearms from their mantels to help the soldiers fight the British for our newfound freedoms.

I hope, but I pray that we may for many decades to come, celebrate our Fourth of July in peace and harmony. Free from those forces that would change our Constitution to fill their own selfish needs. In my capitalistic opinion we must secure free will; the will God gave us to maintain the freedoms we still have and make this nation strong for the world, yet again. Keep the far left and socialism in Europe, if they enjoy it so much. Freedom and God in America. Go USA.
