Dog statue coming to Washougal’s Reflection Plaza

Washougal — A few special guests were at the “Art in the Garden” fundraiser July 11 at a home in Washougal: Heather Stoderberg-Greene and Buddy, mascot of the Lewis and Clark College Explorers. The fundraiser was hosted by the Washougal Arts and Cultural Alliance, and raised more than $600, which will go to a statue of Seaman, the dog that accompanied Lewis and Clark on their expedition, including a stop in Washougal. Stoderberg-Greene is the artist of the bronze life-size statue, which will be in Washougal’s Reflection Plaza. Buddy makes many Seaman-related appearances. Money for the statue were raised by the alliance and Columbia Gorge Woman’s Association.
